Last week, Bln Palao Abogados participated in Panel III of the Second Conference on ‘Challenges to Spain's Security and Defence’organised by the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences (Comillas CIHS) of the Pontifical University of Comillas. This meeting is one of the leading academic forums for analysing the strategic, institutional, industrial and legal challenges facing Spain in the field of security and defence.
Our founding partner Belén Palao Bastardésspoke at the round table dedicated to the perspective of the private sector and consulting, where she discussed The essential role of specialised legal in an environment marked by a high degree of regulatory complexity and a rapidly changing geopolitical landscape. During her speech, Belén highlighted the importance of companies in the sector incorporating criteria of regulatory compliance, export control, corporate responsibility, and risk analysis, especially at a time when regulatory requirements are increasing.
The debate highlighted that the current challenges facing the defence industry go beyond budgetary issues and include aspects such as the evolution of capabilities, constraints arising from national and European legal frameworks, international commitments and the need to anticipate a changing global scenario.
BLN Palao Abogados would like to express its gratitude to the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences (Comillas CIHS) for its invitation and to Emilio Sáenz-Francés San Baldomero for his excellent moderation of the panel. It was also a pleasure to share the stage with Isabel González Hervás and Daniel de la Rosaleading professionals in consulting and services for the defence sector.
Participation in this conference reinforces our firm's commitment to training, advanced legal analysis and strategic support for companies operating in highly regulated and sensitive sectors, such as security and defence.
